On Wednesday April 11, Thales held its first Media Days in Vélizy near Paris, on the subject of Cybersecurity. French and international media representatives were invited to this very successful event. Journalists could not only benefit from presentations from speakers such as Marc Darmon (EVP Secure Communications and Information Systems) or Guillaume Poupard (President of ANSSI), they could also experience concrete examples showcasing Thales Cybersecurity solutions and knowhow.
I had the chance to present SYSGO’s contribution to Thales Cybersecurity expertise with an Automotive Security Demonstrator (watch the demo presentation). This demonstrator perfectly illustrated the use of SYSGO’s PikeOS safe and secure real-time hypervisor to consolidate multiple automotive functions (secure communication gateway, digital instrument cluster, IVI, and sensor-related real-time applications) onto a single shared h/w platform based on Renesas RCAR H3 SoC. I demonstrated the protection mechanisms implemented in PikeOS separation kernel, as well as IT and communication security features implemented as part of the communication gateway functionalities.
Patrice Caine, Chairman & CEO of Thales, concluded the event with a presentation highlighting Thales commitments and investments into Cybersecurity, punctuated with some exiting new announcements like the technical partnership with Williams the Formula One team.
