Connecting Innovation with Certification
There are some events where you leave with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a renewed appreciation for the incredible community driving our industry forward. The inaugural Avionics & Testing Innovations Conference in London fits firmly in this category.
Over two days, the event brought together experts from across the avionics, testing, and certification ecosystem to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of aerospace. With a strong focus on innovation, safety, certification, digital transformation, and emerging technologies, the conference created a valuable platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange across both commercial and defence aviation.
For our team, this year's event was particularly special. Not only did we exhibit at the conference with our own booth, but we also had the opportunity to contribute to the technical programme with two presentations.
Meaningful Conversations at the Booth
One of the highlights of the conference was undoubtedly the opportunity to meet face-to-face with customers, partners, and industry peers.
Throughout the event, we had discussions around the growing complexity of avionics systems, certification challenges, software assurance, testing methodologies, and the increasing importance of reliable, safety-critical software platforms. The conversations were insightful, practical, and often continued well beyond the scheduled networking sessions.
What stood out most was the openness with which attendees shared their experiences and challenges. Whether discussing multi-core certification, AI-enabled systems, cybersecurity considerations, or evolving regulatory requirements, there was a clear sense that collaboration remains one of the industry's greatest strengths.
Sharing practical Solutions through our Presentations
Beyond the conversations at our booth, we were pleased to contribute to the conference programme with two presentations that addressed some of the most pressing challenges facing avionics developers today.
Our first session focused on the realities of bringing modern software technologies into safety-critical airborne systems. As avionics platforms continue to increase in complexity, development teams are challenged to balance innovation with the rigorous certification requirements demanded by standards such as DO-178C. The presentation explored practical approaches to reducing certification effort while maintaining the highest levels of safety and determinism.
The second presentation examined the growing importance of verification and testing throughout the software lifecycle. With multi-core processors, connected systems, and increasingly sophisticated applications becoming the norm, traditional testing approaches are no longer sufficient on their own. We discussed how early verification strategies, automated testing, and certification-ready development environments can help organisations identify issues sooner and streamline their path to approval.
A Community driving Aerospace forward
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of the conference was seeing so many different parts of the aerospace ecosystem come together in one place.
From aircraft manufacturers and system suppliers to certification specialists, software vendors, and testing experts, the event showcased the collective expertise that keeps our industry moving forward. It also reinforced an important truth: innovation in aerospace is rarely achieved in isolation. It is built through partnerships, shared knowledge, and a willingness to tackle complex challenges together.
Our Regional Sales Manager captured this sentiment perfectly:
"I was delighted to be present at the inaugural Avionics & Testing Innovations conference, with the opportunity to meet some of the cognoscenti in our incredible industry. Hearing about the challenges they are currently working to solve collaboratively and then being able to network with them – invaluable. I can't wait for next years!"
Looking ahead
As the conference concluded, we left London with new connections, valuable insights, and plenty of inspiration for the months ahead.
A huge thank you to the organisers, speakers, exhibitors, and everyone who stopped by our booth or attended our presentations. Events like Avionics & Testing Innovations demonstrate the strength and vitality of the avionics and testing community, and we are proud to be part of it.
We are already looking forward to continuing the conversations, building on the relationships established during the event, and returning next year for another opportunity to learn, collaborate, and innovate together.
