At SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2012, infoteam Software AG will demonstrate how a control system can be created safely and reliably using the infoteam Functional Safety Concept. This reference system is based on safe hardware from men mikro elektronik GmbH, the safe real-time operating system PikeOS from SYSGO and the firmware FlexiSafe® from ISaGRAF.
The safe Way
The path to a certified system leads through a safe development process. The project guide iFSM (infoteam Functional Safety Management), certified according to IEC 61508 up to SIL 3, provides exactly this process. The development team can thus concentrate on implementing the functionality, since standard-compliant documentation is already included in the iFSM.
With a safe control system
FlexiSafe®, a software system certified according to IEC 61508 (SC3), ISO 13849 (PLe) and IEC 50128 (SIL4), is specially tailored to the requirements of functional safety.
FlexiSafe® consists of an engineering and programming system according to IEC 61131 and IEC 61499, as well as firmware for safety controllers. A unique feature is the availability of all programming languages defined in IEC 61131.
FlexiSafe® is based on the technology of infoteam partner ISaGRAF and can be ported to any safety operating system. Ready ports are already available for QNX and Wind River VxWorks Cert, among others.
To the safe Application
The infoteam C&E (Cause & Effect) Editor integrated in FlexiSafe is used for efficient project planning of safety functions. The particular advantage of creating applications with the C&E Editor is the significantly simplified management of the safety verification. This not only reduces the effort for the creation and maintenance but also for the acceptance of the safe application.
"In more and more projects for the realisation of safety-related systems, requirements regarding functional safety must be fulfilled. In contrast to this, however, there are increasingly "sporty" project plans that must be adhered to despite the very specific normative requirements for the procedure in the development of safe systems," explains Gregor Schmitt, Key Account Manager Safety at infoteam Software AG. "As a proven solution to meet the competing schedule and quality goals, infoteam Software AG offers (pre-) certified components and services that make the path to a certified product faster and more reliable."
infoteam Software AG will be exhibiting at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2012 at Stand 130, Hall 7A.
