As you all know, the InnoTrans will take place in Berlin from September 20 – 23. We will be there all four days on the Kontron booth in hall 2.B stand 320.
SYSGO and Kontron have recently finished a Computer Based Interlocking project requiring SIL 4 safety. The project owner is a European Tier-1 railway equipment provider who has not jet yet allowed us to share more project details. But there is a lot to talk about. If your way crosses the Kontron booth, let's talk about:
- How to achieve a SIL 4 certification on complex Multi-Core SoC
- The trend to use COTS Hardware and Software and how this can speed up the realization of your certification project
- Last but not least, how to handle a complex hardware in the context of the EN 50129
Another nice project has been done in cooperation with the University of Rostock. Dr. Frank Golatowski and Thorsten Schulz from The Institute of Applied Microelectronics implemented an openETCS based Train Controll System running under PikeOS control on a VX3035. The following Figure shows the architecture of the train control system:
The aim of this project was to use pre-certified and pre-validated components and tools in order to shrink down the certification effort to application certification and integration of the overall system. The used components are:
- SYSGO PikeOS – SIL 4 certified real-time Hypervisor
- Kontron VX3035 – Rugged 3HE VPX already used in SIL 4 railway applications
- SCADE Display – Model based development of safety critical software
- CoreAVI – OpenGL graphics driver designed for high performance and safety certification
